Hymn:
From Adam to Atom
From Adam's birth
we witness life
That echoes till this day,
While Atom's life reveals that gift,
Experimental praise.
The science lab, cathedral's arch
Both point to you, above.
The potter's wheel,
a singer's song,
A mirroring of love.
Creation's life, the will to search,
Proclaim, so none dismsis
A love that makes a million souls
And births each genesis.
Each made an image of that life,
All share a common clay,
Each made unique
by loving hands,
All share God's DNA.
The God who made
the ocean waves,
The One who calms them still,
Now found in pages of a book
And in the searching will.
To fill the void that aches within,
We seek to heaven's height,
And learn, in time,
that empty space
Creation's hand makes right.
So in the chapel of your choice
The search for truth extends,
Dissecting voices,
longing hearts,
Eureka, found, Amen.

A Prayer for
Saving Grace
Holy and Gracious God,
You are our strong tower
and sure foundation.
Continue, we pray,
to support us as we
renew this sanctuary.
Here, we have received
your healing mercies
and enlivening word.
Here, we have known
your loving embrace
and presence in the
breaking of bread.
Grant us the assurance
of your saving grace
as we live out our
earthly pilgrimage
from this holy place.
This we pray in the name
of the chief cornerstone
of our faith, even
Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
